Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions schools, association boards and students ask us most often.
Platform, pricing and data
Is my data GDPR compliant?
Yes. toGæther is built for GDPR compliance by default: data minimisation, right of access and erasure, and a record of processing.
Where is the data hosted?
Platform data is hosted in France, on secure infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest; authentication and push notifications rely on services operated in the United States.
Can I migrate my existing data?
Yes. You can import your members, events and financial history, and we support you during setup.
Is the tool really free for associations?
Yes, every association management feature is free for associations and students. Only schools subscribe on quote.
How is security ensured?
Strong authentication, role-based permissions, regular backups and logging of sensitive access protect your data.
What support is offered?
A support team and onboarding assistance are available for schools, and a help centre for everyone.
Sign-in and SSO
Can students sign in with their school account?
Yes, as soon as the institution enables SSO. toGaether supports SAML 2.0 identity providers (Shibboleth, LemonLDAP::NG, ADFS…) and OpenID Connect (Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta…). Students type their school address and are sent to the institution's sign-in page.
What if the school has no SSO?
The institution can declare its email domains. Any student whose verified address belongs to one of those domains is attached to the school automatically, without manual approval.
Does a student who already had an account lose it when SSO is enabled?
No. On their first SSO sign-in they get their existing account back, with their associations, roles and history. No duplicate is created.
Associations and events
Does the association need to be registered already?
No. toGaether also helps with setting one up: French non-profit (loi 1901) articles and the founding meeting minutes are generated from the information entered, ready to be signed and filed.
Does toGaether take a commission on ticketing?
No platform commission. Payments are collected by HelloAsso, which is free for associations: HelloAsso is funded by an optional contribution offered to payers.
Can several associations organise an event together?
Yes. An event can be co-organised by several associations, including from different schools, with costs split between them.
Mobile app
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, on iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Students find their events, tickets and membership card; boards check people in at the door and follow their association.
Your question isn't here?
Ask the team, whether you're a school, an association board or a student: we'll reply in writing, about your case.
