01What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. It stores information about your browsing and allows your device to be recognised on subsequent visits.
This Cookies Policy explains how toGæther uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, web beacons, local storage) on our platform togaether.me (hereinafter "the Platform").
Important: toGæther uses no advertising cookies. Its in-house audience measurement meets the consent exemption criteria set by the CNIL: it is on by default, and you can object to it at any time. Google Analytics, an optional third-party measurement tool, only sets its cookies with your prior consent.
03Cookie retention periods
The retention period of cookies varies according to their purpose and complies with the recommendations of the CNIL:
| Type of cookie | Maximum duration | CNIL recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookies | Until the browser is closed | ✓ Compliant |
| Authentication cookies | 2 days | ✓ Compliant (max. 13 months) |
| Audience measurement | Session (data: 13 months) | ✓ Compliant |
| Chosen preferences | Until changed (max. 13 months) | ✓ Compliant (max. 13 months) |
| Audience-measurement choice | 13 months; an opt-out is kept until you lift it | ✓ Compliant |
Once these periods expire, cookies are automatically deleted or must be renewed with your consent.
04Information and opt-out
4.1. Information banner
On your first visit, a banner informs you about audience measurement and lets you:
- Got it - Hide the information; audience measurement stays on
- Opt out - Turn audience measurement off immediately
- Settings - See the details and set your choice
4.2. Changing your preferences
You can change your cookie choices at any time:
- From this page, with the "Manage my preferences" button below
- By clicking the "Manage cookies" button in the footer
- By deleting cookies from your browser settings (see section 5)
4.3. How long your choice lasts
The information banner is shown again after 13 months. An opt-out, however, is kept with no time limit, until you lift it. The Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser also counts as an opt-out.
4.4. Opting out of audience measurement
You can opt out of audience measurement at any time, without giving a reason and with no impact on how you use the Platform: collection stops immediately and the session identifier is erased.
06Other tracking technologies
6.1. Local storage (LocalStorage / SessionStorage)
We use your browser's local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB) for your sign-in, your preferences and, if you ask for it, your sign-in email address. This data stays on your device, with one exception: the audience-measurement session identifier, sent with each measurement, unless you opted out.
6.2. Pixels and web beacons
We may use invisible pixels (web beacons) in our emails to measure open rates and improve our communications. You can disable this feature by blocking image loading in your email client.
6.3. Fingerprinting
toGæther does not use fingerprinting techniques to identify or track users. We respect your privacy and do not circumvent your cookie choices.
08Your rights regarding cookies
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:
✓ Prior consent for third-party trackers
toGæther sets no advertising cookies; Google Analytics, the only third-party tracker, is turned on only with your explicit agreement

✓ Right to change your mind
You can lift or restore your opt-out at any time, from "Manage cookies"

To exercise these rights, use the "Manage cookies" button at the bottom of every page or contact us at privacy@togaether.me.
09Changes to this policy
We may amend this Cookies Policy to reflect technological or legal developments, or changes in our practices.
In the event of a substantial change, we will inform you by notification on the Platform and/or by email, and will collect your consent if a new tracker requires it.
The current version is always available on this page, together with its last update date.
